Role of the Group

The group were established in October 2021 with the purpose of supporting the Aberdeen City Adult Protection Committee and ASP professionals working in the city with their expertise by experience. The group have a direct link to the Adult Protection Committee through advocacy support.

Current Work

Peer support video – The group are in the process of developing a peer support video for those who are going through an adult protection investigation.

Review of easy read materials and ASP information.

Completed Work to Date

Training video – Peter has developed a video which is used as part of the adult protection training available to all staff working in the city. Peter’s video demonstrates the importance of advocacy support for people open to an adult protection investigation.

Review of learning review guidance and meaningful involvement.
