Children and Young People with Additional Support Needs
Advocacy Service Aberdeen is a free, confidential, independent advocacy service based in the centre of Aberdeen. In January 2009, ASA received funding from Children in Need to offer an advocacy service to children and young people between five and eighteen years with additional support needs. We can offer advocacy support in many areas; for example, where there are concerns with education, physical or mental health, family life or access to services. Helen and Kate are children’s advocacy workers at ASA. They can:
At all times in the advocacy/client relationship it is the child or young person who makes the decisions. Kate and Helen are loyal to the child or young person they are supporting and their aim is to safeguard that child or young person’s rights. We have leaflets/cards available for children and young people.
